About the Speakers
Qudsiya Ahmed
Head of Publishing, Cambridge University Press
Qudsiya Ahmed is Head of Publishing, Academic, South Asia. She is responsible for the India publishing programme in social sciences, and science and technology. Qudsiya has worked in publishing for the last 17 years. Her publishing career began with SAGE and then moved to Pearson where she shaped Social Sciences textbooks for Higher Education. Joining Cambridge University Press in 2012 when the Press had just started operations in India, she has developed the South Asia Studies publishing program and has brought on board the most acclaimed academics and has published a vastly relevant portfolio of cutting-edge research and issues of contemporary relevance. She has developed the programme to its best potential, and established the South Asia editorial centre to reflect the best of academic research, bring home major international awards each year, and platform the brightest and most promising scholars from intersectional and diverse backgrounds. Her lists of books are useful for academic researchers, post graduate students and practitioners.
Anwesha Rana
Senior Commissioning Editor, Humanities and Social Sciences, Cambridge University Press
Anwesha Rana is Senior Commissioning Editor for books in Humanities and Social Sciences at Cambridge University Press. She is a post-graduate in Literature from Jadavpur University and has worked in publishing since 2014. The focus of her list is on Politics, Sociology, History, Law, and Economics and Management and the various intersections of these disciplines. She works on acquiring and commissioning academic monographs and coursebooks in these subject areas.
