Personalized medicine is a significant achievement for modern medication as it helps to create treatment plans fixated on attributes that make each individual unique. For tailored drugs and dosage form different kinds of printing technologies exhibits immense potential to achieve this distinctive requirement of treatment. This provides 3D printing an upper hand over the conventional strategies of drug development. Despite the fact that 3D printed drug item has already been approved yet it faces some difficulties in printing complex structure. These obstacles can be overcome by 4D printing. Its additional dimension opens new possibilities for personalized medicine. In this review, the possibilities of 3D and 4D printing technology for developing personalized medicine is discussed along with future direction of this research field. Fatema Tuz Zohra Moonmoon B.
